Bookcrossing

Bookcrossing otherwise called BC, BCing or BXing, is an idea already known in the 80’s, which was really spread in 2001 by American programmer Ron Hornbaker.

Ron Hornbaker created a website bringing bookcrossers together. Bookcrossing purpose is to share books to a wide range of people. How is this possible? You have to "lose" a book in public places such as bus, cafe, pub, shop or train.

How to become a bookcrosser?

It is very simple, you just need some good will and of course books.

How to donate a book?

Nothing simpler, just post this information on it: Hi, I am a released book, if you want to take me with you, I'm free. It is worth to add a few words about the bookcrossing itself. Then leave it in any place, it may be the park, shop, bus, where someone might find it.

Do you want to know the fate of this book? You want to know the path it traveled?

Bookcrossing websites allow you to track the fate of your released book. Simply register, click on the "release the book” and complete the form. After successful form completion, our book gets a BIP number, which will help us to answer the question -- where is it now. The person who found the book, should also register with the site and fill out the form.

Schools, universities, libraries, and shops are being the most convenient places to advertise this beautiful idea. Tell your family and friends, contribute to bookcrossing increase in popularity.

Remember that the idea is to provide books and book-crossing as many people as possible.
